2009 Campout Staffing

The planning has begun.  Here is the staffing outlook so far:

UNFILLED POSITIONS

None

FILLED POSITIONS

Transportation Coordinator – Kyle Arnett

Arranges transportation for any and all items that need to be moved to the location. This doesn’t mean you need to drive the truck, only that you arrange for pickups and dropoffs, and assemble info regarding approximate sizes and weights of items in order to estimate the required truck size. Also coordinates staffing for truck loading and unloading.

Cleanup Coordinator – Ken Mccown

Organizes a brief cleanup session on Saturday day. Organizes a full cleanup session on Sunday day. Organizes a final sweep on Monday morning.

Staffing Coordinator – Erik Gilling

Organizes the staffing sheet. Interfaces with the other coordinators during the event in order to fill any empty shifts or roust AWOL staff. Also manages the Site Coordinators and makes sure that there is a system in order for maintaining continuity between Site Coordinators throughout the weekend.

Gate Captain -  Ian23

Develops a system for dealing with incoming party-goers and routing them to parking and camping. Coordinates gate staff and works with the Staffing Coordinator to keep shifts filled.

Production Manager – Pascal

Coordinates between lighting, sound, deco and power to direct all event production.

Stage Manager Coordinator – Alex

This is a new category that is intended to take spread around a bit of the responsibility usually left on the shoulders of the lineup committee and the Site Coordinators. The stage managers will be responsible for making sure all is well on the stages at any point in time; making sure DJ’s are there for their sets on time, that sound, lighting and power issues are quickly managed by their respective Coordinators, and interfacing with the Lineup Committee to deal with any DJ timing issues.

Fire Captain – Loki

This one is fully dependent on us having the ability to even have a fire. If we can have fires it will entail digging a fire pit and securing wood for the fire. It probably should also include maintaining any/all gas heating devices that we have onsite.

Lineup – Alex & Pascal

Sets a lineup and books DJ’s.

Events Organizer – Pascal

Organizes non-DJ events and happenings.

Power Captain – Dom

Rents the required generator, interfaces with the driver to arrange delivery, and supplies power drops for areas outside the main stage area.

Ticket Master – Alex & Isa

Works with the Accountants to receive ticket sales and deliver tickets in whatever manner is decided on. Alex will be tracking paypal funds and Isa will coordinate ticket distribution.

Graphics/Flyer – Loki & Andy

Designs tickets and develops a web flier. Works with the Web Master to maintain and improve the web site.

Web Master – Chris Yap

Maintains and updates the web site to current standards.

Accountant – Alex & Marco

Handles the books and works with all coordinators to disperse funds. Also works with the Ticket Master to take in funds.

Sign-maker – Kristen

Brings supplies/materials needed to make signs. Organizes sign-making parties.

Port-o-Potty Interior Designer – Scott Solomonson

Makes the Port-o-Potties a place where people want to be. Organizes some maintenance of the potties and stocks TP, reading material, and hand sanitizer. Interfaces with the Power Captain to provide lighting to the potties.e;

News and updates

A few updates for ya’ll:

First is that there is a Fire Restriction already posted in El Dorado National Forest. This means no fires in the woods. Sounds cold right? But it won’t be at all. We’ll have 4 separate powerful gas space heaters covering the bulk of the dance floor, and another for the chill tent. We’ll even have one for the DJ’s this year! Plus the weather forecast says lows in the 45-55 F range, which is much warmer than usual for this time of year.

Second is that we’ve sold a ton of tickets already. We don’t usually sell out, and we may have tickets at the door (check the events page for info). However, ticket prices will go up to $25 at the door. Buy now, save a few bucks, and save us all some hassle at the door.

Third, we’ll be serving breakfast on Sunday morning, for those awake and aware. The menu will consist of Mexican Breakfast items. Please feel free to bring food and drinks to contribute! Special thanks to Whatley, Ray and crew for making this happen.

Finally, our staffing sheet is now live. We’d love to have your help organizing this event. If you do sign up for a shift though, please make sure to show up for it. Finding someone to fill a gate shift at the last minute because you flaked is a big deal for us.  You can find the current staffing sheet at http://www.tekno.us/revolution/staff/ Thanks for participating!

I’m super excited about the upcoming campout. The lineup expects to be off the hook. Also a special treat this year: no more shitter! That’s right, from now on it’s port-o-let time. Also we’ve got some more heaters for the dance floor, and also for the chill tent. Expect some other fun surprises as well. We’ll be posting more info here as time goes by. We should have the lineup here for your perusal in the next few days so check back soon!
